Palais Garnier

Palais Garnier This fine piece of design was constructed in the time of Napoleon III as part of Haussmann’s city development scheme. Charles Garnier submitted the winning design for the Palais and construction lasted from 1860 to 1875. Théâtre des Champs Elysées

Théâtre des Champs Elysées The Theatre de Champs Elysees was built in 1912 by the Perret brothers as a perfect example of Art Deco and was listed as a landmark in 1953. The first performance of the Rite of Spring by the Russian ballet caused a scandal that threatened to close the theatre.
