Mörbisch

Mörbisch am See Mörbisch am See lies between the easternmost slope of the Ruster Hill and the Neusiedlersee Lake in Northern Burgenland just 60 km from Vienna and a stone’s throw from Hungary. Cycle trails and ancient pathways meander through the area’s many vineyards in this beautiful area where time stands still. The world famous festival attracts over 200,000 visitors a year and enjoys an international reputation as a Mecca for lovers of operetta.

Austrian Operetta Festival: Mörbisch Festival on the Lake

Under the direction of Harald Serafin and approaching its 50th anniversary, the world's greatest operetta festival takes place on one of the most beautiful open-air stages in Europe. The 2007 production will be Johann Strauss’ Wiener Blut (Vienna Blood) and will run from 12 July to 26 August. 

Lake Stage

Austrian Operetta Festival: Mörbisch Festival on the Lake Performances are held on the biggest lake stage in the world with the impressive natural scenery of the 'Neusiedlersee' providing a breathtaking backdrop.

The arena’s 6,000 seats all offer an excellent view of the stage and some even the Hungarian countryside in the distance.
